How do I make .mov files compatible with the new 64 bit chrome?

The latest version of Chrome will not play the .mov files which I have embedded in my web pages. I have read that this is because Chrome is now 64 bit something-or-other, and will no longer play Quicktime files. I have tried converting the files to .mp4 with no success. I have tried HTML5 code with the <video> tag instead of my old <embed> tags. Nothing seems to work.

Please help!

No. They are optional.

Firefox still uses browser plug-ins and many Web sites still use both codes with javascripts to parse the browser and set things.

Eventually no plug-ins will be used by all browsers.

Chrome doesn't use any browser plug-ins so you have to fix your HTML 5 code to work with it.

Thanks. Seems to work on Safari and Chrome with the HTML5 code. Now I can't see my videos on Firefox(!). Do I need .ogg files as well?
