I have an old Macbook 32 bit Snow Leopard. It works well, except I can't update Safari, the OSX, and several frequently used sites. Is there a way to update/upgrade without buying a new laptop?

If your MacBook is 2007 or newer and has Core2Duo CPU, you can upgrade to Lion(10.7)

Your MacBook is the oldest one, so sorry to say that you can't upgrade farther than Snow Leopard(10.6.8).
