For an iPhone 4s how much storage is normal to use?

It says I am using 2GB of storage, but I have no photos, 1 email, 1 text message saved, no music, no video, no games, no apps. How can I reduce the amount of space I am using? Just seems like a LOT of space taken up for me not having anything on my phone.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

Photos & Camera 35.4 MB (no photos stored)

Mail 14.7 MB 1 email saved

calendars and reminders 2.4 MB (noting on there that I can see)

Messages 2.0 MB (1 text saved)

Health 208 KB never used it

Safari 104 KB (not even an icon for Safari on my phone)

iBooks 4.4KB again, never used

Podcasts 4.0KB, again, never used

Doesn't seem like that should add up to 2.0 GB

Photo & camera lists photo library 35.4 MB and shared photo stream 3.9 KB

Mail says 'mail and attachments' 14.7 MB, I just deleted my one email and it says 16.3MB now

Calendars and reminders says 'events' 2.6 MB but I don't have anything in there

Messages 2.0 MB in saved messages (1 text thread with 2 messages)

Contacts lists Contacts and images 1.1MB

Health doesn't give me a breakdown, just 208KB

Safari says History 140 KB but I can't even access safari

iBooks says 'documents and data' 4.4KB

Podcasts says the same thing 4.0 KB

That's kind of my question, is 2.0 GB normal for not really having anything on here? It seems high to me, if that's what the apps and OS themselves take up, that's fine, but to me it seems high. (It's a work phone we're allowed to use any time, I just want to keep it as minimal as possible on mine because I know some people take advantage of that)

I have a 16GB 4s, it says I have 2.0 GB used and 10.6 available, so the 12.6 seems right, I'm just trying to figure out how I have 2 Gigs of space used. If you can't tell, I'm not very technical, and I just remember the days 2GB was a big hard drive that I never came close to filling up, seems like to fill that up should take more than the standard included apps, a 2 response text message and some contacts.

does that work on any computer? I don't have a mac, and I've never used itunes

Yes. You should be using iTunes to manage your iPhone. You can get it free from here: http://apple.com/itunes.

You should be using it first and foremost to back up your iPhone regularly. (You should also set up automatic backup to iCloud). You will also need it if you forget your passcode.
