How do you select multiple photos in iCloud?

Icloud.com
Hello Tiggertiffany,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you need to select multiple items on iCloud.com then you can use the common procedure to select multiple items by either holding Command or Shift on your keyboard.
To select multiple files or folders, hold down the Command (⌘) key, then click the items.
To select multiple files or folders that are listed together, click the first item you want to select, hold down the Shift key, then click the last item.
OS X Yosemite: select files or folders
Have a great weekend,

No longer works! Did they intentionally screw this up? Now it states you can't do more then 20mbs and then it won't let you choose less then all photo's. Man I'm on windows and its such a pain to work with this icloud photo's using windows and browser!
This product is just crap. They preffer that we pay monthly for cloud services instead of having proper backups on cold storage.
When icloud has compressed your photos on your phone. You dont want to dowload them anymore, so you want to use the icloud. Then the DIFFICULTIES beguin!!
I'm new to Apple. Like their products but I use Windows and Linux and I'm beginning to think that Apple intentionally cripples their products if your using another OS or browser. I mean this is so simple or it should be. Shift hold and drag mouse. Common sense but nope. And now you can't (or I can't for some reason) choose more then 20mb to download. Is it because I'm using the free version (non subscription?). AND still no good response from Apple support, well at least no response is better then Microsoft's Bull*** "support" who would rather give you an incredibly stupid answer then no answer.
A free version of what? The only Apple services that cost money are Apple Music, iTunes Match, and additional iCloud Storage.
And this issue has nothing to do with the platform. You can't select multiple photos on a Mac either.
And as for another browser, I use Firefox and have had no issues.

In general, Apple is inconvenient. For anyone that says otherwise is fooling themselves. I have all the apple products and the imac and ipad are great mostly because i dont use them for music or photos. Both icloud (for accessing photos) and itunes (for music) are a joke. I get that they want to keep a tight leash on things and its one of the main reasons why Apple is so reliable (personally atleast) but it comes at a cost of fed up users and their UI experiences.
And for anyone that tries to explain to me what the purpose of icloud is (just to browse photos), I get it. I use Photoshop and Lightroom but when my photos are being saved in "optimize" mode, then they dont show up in those programs!
Ok off i go trying to back up my 1000+ photos by individually selecting them or using photos.app as someone above suggested.
You must use a Mac. so the Photos app on the Mac has the tools you can use to effectively manage your library,
Not quite - No Mac is necessary to have thousands of photos in iCloud, an iOS device with a camera suffices. Many users with a Windows PC are needing a way to get photos off their iPhone on onto the PC after they accidentally enabled iCloud Photo Library and optimize Storage on the iPhone. This will put them in a fix - with iCloud photo library enabled on the iPhone and optimize storage they cannot download the photos using a USB connection and neither can they disable iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone, if the photos will not fit onto the iPhone in the full resolution. Or an old Mac - too old to run Yosemite, is causing a similar problem, if the iPhone is using iCloud Photo Library. Then Apple Support is usually suggesting to download the photos from www.icloud.com. Early last year that was easy, because we could "select all" in Photos at www.icloud.com, but now this wok-around to get access to iCloud Photo Library requires a lot of work. and there are plenty of users of iCloud Photo Library without a Mac with the matching Photos for Mac.
same here... it worked in the past apparently...using icloud.com via a Chrome browser on a Windows 10 machine... anyone from Apple support reading this....can you please confirm if this is a bug or a feature change ?
So wait.. you CANNOT download all photos at once? Made a mistake and click yes to backup to icloud, now the storage is full and nothing else gets backed up. So I am no longer using icloud to backup photos from my 256gb Iphone 7. I get an email stating
iCloud Photo Library has been disabled on all your devices and new photos and videos are no longer uploading to iCloud. |
There are currently 2962 photos and 17 videos in your iCloud Photo Library |
So I have to download 2962 photos individually? Is this correct? What a dumb backup/restore process!
By removing the select all function Apple have effectively handcuffed users of iCloud to either buy more storage space or stop using the cloud back up function...I'm of the latter. Until Apple fix this bug I will not be using their cloud storage. Amazon Prime is giving me unlimited storage for photos...guess where I'm saving snaps to now! Shame on you Apple.
So wait.. you CANNOT download all photos at once?
You are syncing your iPhone with iCloud Photo Library, to store the originals in iCloud and only optimized versions on your iPhone? Your iPhone can download many photos at once back to the iPhone, if you want to make a slideshow or similar.
And if you want download the photos to a Mac, use the Photos.app on a Mac. if your Mac is syncing with iCloud Photo Library, you can select many photos at once in Photos.
You definitely need to copy your photos from iCloud to one of your devices to make a backup, since iCloud Photo library is the working storage and not a backup.
I am basically going with what the email told me to do which was...
You have 30 days left to download your iCloud Photo Library.
If your library exceeds the storage space available on your device, you can download your photos and videos to your Mac or PC from iCloud.com.
So I am on a Windows PC on Icloud.com and I am trying to DOWNLOAD my entire ICloud Photo Library consisting of 2962 photos to my PC computer.
The ONLY way to download my entire ICloud Photo Library to my PC computer is by INDIVIDUALLY selecting each picture? You don't find that time consuming? Who has time to do that?
I mean yes I get it I can download whatever is on my ICloud library to my Iphone and I am pretty sure the pictures on my ICloud are already on my Iphone. HOWEVER, the email should specifically state some instructions on how to download your entire iCloud Photo Library within the 30 days using a PC. I find it absurd that you have to select each picture individually.
There is a workaround for this. You will need to download the Icloud software for PC, and on the taskbar it gives you the option to download ALL your pictures. Again there should be some instruction on how to do this for new users.
Same issue.
Yo... Apple (iCloud photo center) this does not make sense why did you do this?? Why can't we do a "select all" like in "iPhoto" and delete all the photos at once. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Who's idea was this? Geez can somebody bring Steve Jobs back.
Like who's going to sit there and click on each photo to delete or upload?
I suspect Apple does this so users get irritated and give up trying to delete large amounts of photos, and instead opt the easier route....being forced to buy additional iCloud storage space. let's face it, it's so simple to have the function to select many photos, the option exists in just about every other app that Apple creates.
Absolutely. Apple is primarily engaged in the business of trying to figure out ways to force people to buy more stuff from them, whether it be iCloud space or a new iOS device. Because they really need to do that to stay in business. It's all a widespread conspiracy and you are the target.
