How do you select multiple photos in iCloud?

Why can you not delete or manage photo's in the simplest manor like google or amazon or flikr or on and on, like ya know they use to have the ability to shift and choose 2 or more at a time.

And no one will be able to as long as Apple refuses to explain what their thinking is on this. Maybe if Apple did explain (where do they do this?) or offer a REAL answer to how to manage this issue then people on here would not be pulling their collective hair out trying to understand why this is such a difficult thing when it should not be in the 1st place.

It seems clear you did not read the terms and conditions for this community when you signed up.

Apple does not use this community to explain themselves. We, all of us, are not allowed to question either decisions Apple has already made, or speculate about decisions they will make in the future.

Wow just like an elitist Apple user. Did I say I was talking too or asking Apple? No I and others on here are fully aware we are on a community board. We're just asking others and out load why? As well as if any one knows how to figure this out or if their missing something. Which is what I thought. I guess I'm just in the wrong place because I could swear that right their says this is an community support site. Find and ask questions. But according to you if you have any questions that might question Apple's services and how to manage them or how and why something is the way it is then your in the wrong place, right. Wow! Ridiculous that this functionality doesn't exist. I'd imagine this is what happens when a company recognizes their failure to maintain a velocity of innovation - They make it very hard for users to migrate to other platforms.

I found this very helpful. However, for me I don't have a right side bar. On the left side bar I have "Photos" selected, and then my photos are grouped by date. Also, if any movies are selected, I have to confirm their download location (by hitting "enter" for each), but not for photos.

This what you should to delete all or lots picts on iCloud:

I bough a USB drive and freshly installed Sierra on it.

On my MacBook Air I started by holding down the OPTION key and selected the USB drive as startup drive.

Then I set up iCloud with ONLY Photos selected (you ONLY want to sync photos, not address book, notes etc...)

This will synchronize all the photos from your iCloud to your new Sierra installation.

Now you can go into Photos on the Mac, select all pictures and delete them all.

Since your Mac now is synchronized with iCloud, it will delete all the picture on iCloud.

I was so hopeful this would work. It didn't. When I clicked + it just provided a list of albums to add the single image to. It did not select all images in the current folder--boo! Any new workarounds?

The iCloud website access to Photos might have been created to give quick access to visualize your photos only until.... it has to be used to troubleshoot and/or fix whatever problems iCloud sync has created. The website is the master copy of all your photos. It will be of vital importance when ALL of your other iCloud enabled devices are in disarray. Right now, for example, I have 29 thousand items in the Trash that I need to recover. Have you tried to click on 29 THOUSAND pictures and recover them every... 20 pictures. That *****. That wouldn't be a problem in the ideal world where iCloud synchronizes perfectly. Until it doesn't.

Heres is a tip, for those who want to download all your photos from your Icloud, to your harddisk. Since you cant select multiple photos, and download them to your harddrive, there is another way.

The latest patch i downloadet from itunes, had Icloud for desctop included. If you open Icloud as a desctop app, there is an option as as soon as you open it, where there is a path to downloaded objects from icloud to harddrive. Just check that path, and leave your icloud open, and it will automatic transfer all your pictures and movies to that folder. But there is no way to check how far the downoad is. It just appear automatic in bakcground.

As a Windows user with Office 365, I have OneDrive including its app on my iPhone and iPad. One of available features allows automatic uploading of all photos from iCloud to the Pictures folder in One Drive. From there it is easy to manage the complete photo library on any computer that gives you access to your OneDrive folders.

Managing photos in the iCloud Photo library is absurd. You can right click on a photo in iCloud and it shows an option to "Select All", but it doesn't select any. Just crazy!
