Hello Tiggertiffany,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you need to select multiple items on iCloud.com then you can use the common procedure to select multiple items by either holding Command or Shift on your keyboard.
To select multiple files or folders, hold down the Command (⌘) key, then click the items.
To select multiple files or folders that are listed together, click the first item you want to select, hold down the Shift key, then click the last item.

Have a great weekend,

Try holding the Alt key instead of Ctrl or Shift. It worked for me the same as the Ctrl used to work.
on a PC, try holding down Alt key, instead of Ctrl. Use Alt as you did Ctrl before.
The Command key works just fine for selecting photos on my iCloud.com website. What browser are you using?
GB
I am on my work PC. I held down Ctrl, Command, and Alt keys at the same time and was then able to click to select multiple files. Completely counter-intuitive, but it worked.
I agree Apple has made photos overly complicated. After iphoto, they introduced Photo, and, photos no longer drag and drop into iMovie. Next, they introduced iCloud for my phone, but, it is nearly impossible to get them to download to my Mac Photo. When I connect my iPhone to my Mac using a cable, it shows only 3 photos that I can import, when I have over 1,000. Simple case of "over-engineering" what was once a simple process.
I agreed what Leione said :
A logic question- WHY ?
The iCloud web interface is not meant to be the main access to download all your photos to your computer. It is a tool to browse your photos, if you cannot access your computer and to download a few photos if you cannot get access to your main Photos Library.
But the more convenient way to download your photos from your iPhone to a mac is to use the Photos.app on the mac. And if you are using a different brand of computer consider to use My Photo Stream to transfer new photos wirelessly.
Once you open photo app , take cursor on top menu bar , click on edit > again click on select All , so all photos will be selected .
Again clicked on image a pop - up window appears , clicked on delete photos as shown in the screen shot .

It used to work a year ago beautifully, when alex_h1 posted the reply. The Photos page at www.icloud.com has been updated, and now the "Select" button in the toolbar is missing, and so we can no longer use the shift key to select a range of photos. It is either a bug or a dropped feature.

Absolutely agree. I have 22,000 photos I want to download as a back up onto an external HD. It's ridiculous that I can't just have a simple option to select all. Such a fundamental & basic command which is lacking.
PLEASE SORT THIS OUT!
Hello !
Ben ,
This thread is going from two years , and many of us are trying to solve , selecting all photos ( can be thousands or more ) than deleting them in one single stroke seems impractical , the Mac user can select photos in parts and delete .
Delete items from iCloud Photo Library
To delete an item from iCloud Photo Library, just delete it from your Photos library: while viewing the photos in a moment, select the item you want to delete and press Delete.
Deleted photos and videos aren’t immediately removed from your library; they’re placed in the Recently Deleted album, where they remain for the number of days shown, and then are deleted. You can remove the items immediately using the steps below. Once the items are removed permanently, they’re no longer available on any device that uses iCloud Photo Library.
Did you find a solution, how to transfer separate albums to windows?
That would solve the issue, as you can arrange your photos on the phone and create a backup time to time, album by album (i would keep the favourites on the phone).
Thanks.
Does anyone know if the photos in the iCloud is actually stored on your mac? There is a folder called iLifeAssetManagement which is hogging about 75gb of memory on my Mac. I've been periodically deleting these files manually but have no idea whether i should be as i have not gotten around backing up my wife's photos.
My wife has about 61k worth of photos on iCloud and can anyone suggest the best way of transferring all these files into an external HDD and deleting the photos?
Any suggestions as to best practise re photo backups/transfers would be much appreciated as well. The wife has a 128GB iPhone and does not backup/update often.
I am completely disgusted with MAC right now. I have been a staunch defender of MAC products for the last 10 years but I find this insanely frustrating and I am going to start talking with my pocketbook and mouth to tell everyone to quit buying MAC products because the 'just don't work' anymore. You remember those commercials with those two guys. Hi, I'm a Mac. Well you suck Mac now. I get that you need work arounds but this is completely ridiculous. All I want to do is download my photos from iCloud down to my personal MAC so that I can access these pics without going through the internet. Can you at least do that for me please MAC software people?
Fix this or I am switching over to Google where they seem to give a **** about creating software that is user friendly and intuitive, what MAC used to stand for.

Who exactly are you threatening? You are not speaking with Apple here.
How did your photos get in to iCloud? On a Mac you can annals the iCloud Photo Library and start a sync. All your photos will be downloaded to your Mac with no effort on your part.

I think it's an Apple scam to FORCE us to sign up for more storage. I'm sick of seeing my storage is full yet I can't download in bulk all my photos from the cloud so I can delete them thus giving me space to upload new pictures and repeat. They want to frustrating us to the point of just paying the **** upgrade fee.
I fully agree with all the fed-up users! It makes it so much more user unfriendly! Choosing all images and being able to hit a download icon to do so and save it where you want, is the way to do it! I hope they go back to user friendly option.
