How do you select multiple photos in iCloud?

Hello Tiggertiffany,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you need to select multiple items on iCloud.com then you can use the common procedure to select multiple items by either holding Command or Shift on your keyboard.
To select multiple files or folders, hold down the Command (⌘) key, then click the items.
To select multiple files or folders that are listed together, click the first item you want to select, hold down the Shift key, then click the last item.

Have a great weekend,

Basic Icloud usage is free. Someone may choose to pay for the service in order to:
-receive more storage capacity
or
-gain access to normal app functionality i.e. the ability to download or delete multiple files at the same time
If that's incorrect then please explain to me how? I'm just trying to figure out how to manage my photos on icloud without individually selecting each one. If you have any suggestions I'd be grateful.
It seems like simply enabling the shift button would be an obvious solution for apple

I thought it was only to buy additional storage.
You don't, the poster you are replying to is entirely wrong about that.
This is what I've been told from my wife and a friend as well. I'll confirm tonight after work.
And if you still cannot select multiple files using the shift key, even after paying for more storage capacity then that seems even worse. How are you supposed to manage several gigabytes of files if you have to delete each one individually?

If you read any of this 20 page conversation before your statement, that functionality was removed from iCloud a while ago and has not been replaced.
How did your photos get sent to iCloud?
Hey guys, this is a clearly a HUGE issue. I honestly do not understand why they got rid of this feature. Is Apple even aware of this? I know they have thousands of issues on their hand but is some way to fast track this?
I’ve wasted SO MUCH OF MY time selecting individual files (on icloud.com) . What can we do to change this?
you must have a copy of Photos on something, so I use it.
That is why I keep carrying my laptops with me and I do not buy any MacBook Pro with less than 1TB storage. But occasionally, I may find myself without (an affordable) Wi-Fi and cannot connect the Mac and the only access to my photos may be some PC in the hotel lounge. That is when I have to fall back on www.icloud.com with no smart albums, no Info panel for the photos, no search tool. It is still a mystery to me, how Apple expects us to use this interface - 2TB of storage for image files and videos without a way to search for images, or even to display the keywords and descriptions or the filenames.
I've encountered this problem just now. My opinion? That Apple doesn't want users to be able to select a range of photos because they want to make it harder to clear out an iCloud Photo Library so that users will end up deciding to just keep using it and eventually buy more storage. But you all should make up your own minds- you're smart 😉
lThat Apple doesn't want users to be able to select a range of photos
There is a documented workaround/process to select each moment (a range of photos) and all of the photos in it and then remove or act on it. It is not 'select all', but it better than one at a time.
You're smart. You should be able to find it within this conversation.
Probably a premium feature. Buy more space then it will give you more access. It's very likely this will happen more and more as the way to make more cash £$. Won't be long now to when many customers will start to give up on Apple products. Easiest way is to use iCloud on your computer and get all pictures automatically to download to PC. If you have no PC then your stuck and have to pay more. The future eh? Not so bright after all!
Wrong again.
iCloud is not a storage service, it is a synchronization system. One that is in no way mandatory. Use it or don't, no-one here will even notice. All your imaginings change nothing about it.
Agree with all of these users. If iCloud is going to have photos there should be a way to download them all at once. This is the worst system ever for photos. It used to work so well. I lament the old simple way of connecting my iPhone to my Mac and having it automatically upload my photos to my photo program. Now I don't even know how to do that anymore. I don't want all my devices synced to that when I delete something on my phone it is deleted on my Mac or visa versa. Please stop syncing everything!! It is hypothetically an option, but if I don't Apple has made it a complete pain the !#s to get photos off of my iPhone and into Photo on my Mac. Photo Stream is completely confusing. I have no idea where the photos are or if they are the original size. What a mess...
I would like to not use iCloud if you can tell me how to easily get my photos off my phone using something else. One of the reasons for purchasing Apple products in the past, at least for me, was that the software that came with the operating system worked so I did not have to purchase something else on top of the software that comes with it. Now I'm not so sure. That is my point. I obviously can use something else. I can even just use Terminal and read the files off the phone and onto my mac, but then why pay for all the software that comes with Apple devices?
As others have already stated, this is obviously done on purpose to lead people to pay for their cloud storage service. Just another greedy move at the cost of user experience by Apple. As a life longer apple user/customer I have finally had it with their greed at my expense. I have spent too much on forums trying to figure out how to do simple actions with itunes, photos, etc.
