How do you select multiple photos in iCloud?

I am trying to select multiple photos in iCloud without having to click on each photo individually. Is there a way to do so?

Hello Tiggertiffany,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

If you need to select multiple items on iCloud.com then you can use the common procedure to select multiple items by either holding Command or Shift on your keyboard.

To select multiple files or folders, hold down the Command (⌘) key, then click the items.

To select multiple files or folders that are listed together, click the first item you want to select, hold down the Shift key, then click the last item.

It's having the opposite effect on me. I have 200GB icloud storage already and I'm moving it to dropbox because I'm over iCloud's limitations.

After activating a new iPhone I disabled Photos from syncing with the cloud so I could keep my phone storage minimized. Now I want to download my 2,500+ iPhone photos from iCloud to a folder on my Macbook Pro, without using Photos (I don't like the way iPhoto and now Photo store images, so I plan to keep all my images in one place and sort them with Bridge). As far as I can tell---and after hours of google-fu--the least annoying option is to sync the iCloud photos to my iPhone and then use Image Capture to move the to a folder on my laptop. Plug and play my apple!

There might be a way to do this; it's not as simple as hitting the Command button and selecting your photos but it is quite handy. Just 3 simple steps! 🙂

1. In your iCloud Photos, go to Photos (the uppermost folder).

2. On the right-hand side, click at either the "+" or the Share button next to it. Then, simply click anywhere in the iCloud to close the pop-up message (i.e. Share 24 items to).

3. Click at the iCloud Download button next to the Trash Bin button on the right-hand side. Done!

Hope this helps. 🙂

I know why, because this way is too complicated and they have a better chance of getting someone to buy more storage than go through the trouble of selecting and deleting to make more space. Truly pathetic, my recommendation to fix this issue is to do it once and then use Google Photos/Drive - problem solved. You can also take the opportunity and throw the iphone away and get yourself a nice new android device (only reason Im here is because Im trying to recover some old stuff btw). My wife did it and she keeps telling me it was the best decision she ever made when it comes to choosing what os to use. Thanks Apple for helping my wife making this great decision. Cheers

Thanks for the link - I submitted a request.

A big example of how this would be useful is when I'm wanting to access and manage (download, delete, etc.) photos from a computer that's not my regular computer - e.g. a friend's computer or work computer. In that case it's not feasible to use an Apple app, and even if I could I don't want to sync all my photos on that computer. Thus it would be nice to be able to do such things from the web page, since every computer has a web page.

(P.S. Some of the snobby / snarky responses are another reason why a lot of people don't use Apple - the "You don't like the way we do it? Up yours." attitude. Just sayin'.)

Same here. I currently have 22,756 images saved. I buy the largest version of iPhone available each release because I use photos for EVERYTHING. Saving important documents (throwing away the paper), screen shots to instruct employees, archiving things for work and of course, regular old photos. No selfies, lol.

Five years ago, if you told me that I would say, what I am about to say I would have tried to slap you but, I am seriously considering not going with an iPhone for my next phone. This thread driving that decision for the most part. But it's an indicator of bigger things. Apply just doesn't drop my jaw like it used to. Competitors are catching up. I certainly know that no one will miss me but it makes me sad.
