how do I install third-party VST plug-ins in Logic Pro??

I am mystified - nowhere in the manual can I find any instructions for installing other plug-ins. Surely it is very simple - but then so am I... Can anyone help?

Powerbook G4, Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Logic does not support VST plug-ins since moving to OSX. Audio Units (AU's) are supported.

Hi,
Logic doesn't run vst plugins, only audio unit plugins. You can put them here:
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.
If the plugins come with an installer, it should put them there automatically.

You can use a VST/AU converter such as this:

Granted, it's not guaranteed, not supported by Apple and not free buuuut, it's worked for me with Ruby Tube, a VST plug that I really couldn't live without.

Now if only we had a 'wrapper' to make non-Universal plugins Universal! I know it's completely impossible, but wouldn't that be nice?
