My wife has an iPad mini with some music on it that she would like to have on her old iPod Nano so she can listen while walking. Is there a connector cord that will do this or does she have to use som intermediate device.

There is no way to connect the devoces with a cable. The Nano does not have WiFi capability so the only way for her to do this is to transfer the music from the iPad into iTunes on a computer and then the music to the Nano.
