I seek assistance to finding a solution to recovering my deleted files

Anyone out there has knowledge of recovering deleted files or from the external hard drive. I was silly enough to delete without confirming my files are safe and accessible 😟 and now all my work is gone but i believe since i have consistently backed up my files that its there somewhere. Please help
