Does anybody have a solution for this? The fixes I've read about online (adding noise, outputting uncompressed video, playing the content in VLC rather than QuickTime Player) haven't worked.
Motion 5, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
The only solution that I could get to work was to add noise to the gradient layer in my movie. I could then output to H.264, and it looked basically okay. (The noise was subtle, though noticeable, but in this film it was fine. Still, it seems absurd to me that I have to do this. Based on my experience, and other discussions I've seen online, I believe it's a bug in Motion...and a serious one at that.)
@David - The Animation codec is not available within Motion 5. These are our only options:
You should Provide Motion Feedback (from the Motion Menu) and let Apple know you're having a problem. It could be an issue with specific GPUs and they should be informed.
