Can I limit the number of simultaneous downloads?

When you download multiple items, it puts them in the new download queue. It will download 3 items at a time. This seems to kill my bandwidth for web surfing and such. Is there a way to limit this to only 1 item at a time? I've searched all over in the preferences and can't see that you can.

I too am looking for a way to limit downloads...

The reason just pausing them all and unpausing one by one is a pain - who wants to sit by the computer all day, double checking every few minutes when one download is finished and it's time to start another one. Sure, might be fine if you only have a few things in que, but I'm trying to get about 40 language book chapters, I don't want to babysit all day!

iTunes seems to set the limit at 3 simultaneous downloads, changing it to one would be a blessing for some of us.

Likewise, I would like to limit the bandwidth usage by iTunes. I am managing multiple LAN's and mu;ltiple users; pausing streams is not a viable option.

I am wanting to place a limit in my disk images such that users cannot alter the setting.

Anyone out there already cracked this one?

Just goto the Download Queue and pause all but the one you want downloaded first. when its done resume the next one

If it will take all day then let iTunes do its thing. As it finishes one track another will start.

You could have it download when you are not using the computer, say at night or when at work.
