Synching Outlook Mail

I just started using Outlook Mail on my iPhone 5s & wound up with over 350 mail items from my inbox and hundreds of sent mail items. I went back and deleted all but a dozen or so from my inbox & the entire sent mail folder, but it hasn't been reflected on my iPhone. I hooked the phone up to my Windows computer & opened iTunes. It synchs notes & contacts but not mail & I can't find a way to tell it to synch mail. My calendar is synched through iCloud. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running 12.1.1.4


It looks like it might be working--at least I'm getting the same emails as on my computer. I'll give a try for a while. Thank for your response.
