Iphone 5 battery drains rapidly, I have turned off apps and location even purchased a new battery, is anyone else having this problem?

Batteries are not manufactured by Apple, and batteries are largely old, outdated technology. Probably need a new battery, take it to the store they need to replace it. If you notice the warranty on batteries expires before most electronic devices, but Apple should replace yours if you ask nicely.

I have seen where Apple will replace the device with a refurbished one.. just depends on stock.

There was a run of bad batteries for the iPhone 5. Apple will replace them if your phone qualifies and you haven't tried to fix it yourself. See: iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program - Apple Support. Unfortunately, you may have disqualified yourself if you tried to repair it yourself.

You should definitely have your iPhone 5 serial number checked against the battery replacement program (see the post by Lawrence Finch). My iPhone 5 battery started dying too fast, but when I checked it was covered by the program, so Apple put in a new free battery even though my iPhone 5 was 2 years old, and now the battery is fantastic.

Yes, I had the same issue and I have traced it back to an iCloud setting. There are a few threads on this now. I had had two new phones and set them up with all different iOS versions but nothing worked.......until I setup as new without signing into the iCloud, even once, during the setup.

Try this and that will better help genius bar/tech support help you.
