Battery life of fully charged iPhone 6 plus when switched off

If I fully charge My iPhone 6 Plus

I keep it switched off.

I take it with me when I go camping.

If I want to call home when the battery only has 5% power left to let them know I am OK as far into my trip as possible when should I call. In other words with phone off how many days or hours would it take for battery to be almost flat at say 5% charge left.

Thanks

There are all kin do of information to be found on standby and usage times of an active iPhone, but no details about how long the battery in an iPhone, that is switched off will last. To be on the safe side, take the data for an iPhone in standby into consideration:

Power and Battery6

  • Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
  • Charging via USB to computer system or power adapter
  • Talk time: Up to 24 hours on 3G
  • Standby time: Up to 16 days (384 hours)
  • Internet use: Up to 12 hours on 3G, up to 12 hours on LTE, up to 12 hours on Wi‑Fi
  • Video playback: Up to 14 hours
  • Audio playback: Up to 80 hours

Thanks for your input. The person at Apple Centre in Chatswood must be not being honest with me. My iPhone 6 plus is 5 weeks old and I have hardly used it and in off mode after being fully charged it goes flat after 4 days. He said that is how long the battery lasts. But according to your answer he is not being honest I will have to take contact apple care again and waste mord time trying to get to the bottom of this. The weather is Sydney is very warm at the moment. Thank you

Before you assume that someone lied to you, let's make sure we're all on the same page. Are you turning the phone off by pressing and holding the power button until you get the message to slide across the screen to power off and then sliding to power off? That's what "off" means. If you're just tapping the power button and turing the screen off, that's just putting the phone in to sleep mode. How long the battery will last in sleep mode depends on a large number of factors.

Notice where it says UP TO 16 days. That doesn't mean you will get 16 days. It means that under optimal conditions (no unneeded processes running, device in sleep mode, etc.) you may get up to 16 days.

If you're concerned about running out of power, then get a portable battery pack. I have one that has twice the capacity of my iPhone battery (meaning I can get three times the 'normal' battery life. And it cost about $25, IIRC.
