Viber quit unexpectedly - Yosemite

Hi, actually not yet, i faced it up one month back and contacted viber support team, still no result although i keep emailing them but the only answer i get is to be patient, i am happy I'm not alone 😟

I have removed and re-installed viber several times in last two months.

After each re-installation it works fine for a few days and then I again face the same problem 😟

I have the same problem started two monthes ago after I update my yosemite. I uninstall and reinstall viber, to make it work. It works for several days and then begin crashing again. I had the same problem with skype. Since both software use audio/video, it might be something about them that makes viber to crash. I just hope someone fix this issue.

I have determined that the crash occurs when Viber tries to look for fresh update on download.cdn.viber.com

So solution that works is to prohibit any Viber connection to this server. I did it with littlesnitch rule.

If you'r not using littlesnitch then you can do it with hosts file:

1. Open your terminal
2. Type in sudo nano /private/etc/hosts and then your admin password
3. File will open. Go to the last line and type 127.0.0.1 download.cdn.viber.com
4. Press Ctrl+O (save file) and Ctrl+X (close file)

Now Viber should work without any crashes but youll have to install updates manually
