Gray Rectangular Boxes have Replaced My Text

Greetings,

Hopefully someone can help me.....when I click on certain web pages instead of words appearing I am getting this grayish colored boxes that seem to take the place of the text. I have no idea what this means or how to remove the boxes. Can anyone help me remedy this issue please?
