iOS 8 Location Based Reminders Not Working

Ive had this too. My solution was also related to an exchange account.

Settings

Mail. Contacts. Calendars.

Exchange

Mine WAS set to Mail: On. Contacts: On. Calendars: On. Reminders: Off.

Switching calendars off and reminders on fixed it for me.

I think I know what's the issue here. In order for location based reminders to work, under location in system services, you must enable both location based alerts AND motion calibration and distance.

Thank you, Chaletboy. Can confirm this configuration worked for me.

• Reset Location and Privacy
• Under Location System Services, Location-Based Alerts and Motion Calibration are switched on.
• Having only one and not the other will not work (tested this).
• Compass Calibration and Find My iPhone are on, and everything else are off.
• Location setting for Reminders is still "While using the app", and not "Always".
• But it works. Tested twice for leaving and arriving alerts.

I spent ages yesterday trying all the different suggestions to get this to work but location based reminders would just not work (made using siri). Eventually the only thing that worked was changing Siri's language from U.K English to U.S English. Not ideal but a workaround in the meantime and seems to have worked flawlessly since.

I've done all this and wondered why none of it is working. Siri will accept the location reminder but she just won't remind me when I get there. NOR WILL ANY OTHER REMINDER APP. Then today I noticed that all of the privacy/location services/system services which are turned on have arrows filled in with black, while "location-based alerts" just has the outline of the arrow but it is the only one of the services turned on that does not have a solid black arrow. (see below) Notice that even the services that are OFF have black arrows.

Wondering which type arrow is beside the green on switch on others whose location based alerts are working. If all are solid black arrows, then all I've got to do is find a setting that will black-fill my arrow instead of having to leave home and return every time I want to test my settings.

I'm sorry I'm unable to help you with the problem though 😟 Your switches should work, as they are the same as mine (in fact you have one more "on" switch than I do). Perhaps reset your notifications for Reminders? Does the same thing happen (or not happen) if you set the reminder manually in the Reminders app instead of via Siri?

I just reset my notifications for reminders and manually entered a location reminder and it looks just like the ones that siri entered so I doubt it will make any difference. i'll get back when I leave and test it. Curious.... assuming your location reminders are working, is your arrow next to reminders solid black or is it like mine?

I have tried every option stated in this discussion and none of them worked for me. Strange thing is when I am pulling up at my location I can hear the chime of the reminder like I should. However the reminder itself is not showing up. Hopefully its fixed really soon I actually use this function regularly for my work and without it I will have to change phones for myself along with all my employees. For now the location based reminders are working for todoist app, but can not use voice to set the reminders with that app which makes it a issue for me seeing how I am on the road most of the time when I am using it. Anyone else find a solution to this problem?

It was the exact opposite for me, I had my exchange acct. reminders turned on when I turned it off it started working. Without your post I would've never fixed my problem ,

Yes same with me even on iOS 10 I've reported to apple they're investigating obviously a wider issue or bug that was never addressed

Thanks. It was already turned on for me but I turned it off and back on again. Hopefully that will do the trick. But engineering are still investigating it

I was able to resolve this by turning on Location Services > System Services > Location-Based Alerts
