Touch ID not working on iPhone 6 and iOS 8.2

I have an iPhone 6 which had been working perfectly up until a few days ago when I upgraded to iOS 8.2. Since then I have not been able to use Touch ID.

When I go into Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, I find that "Use Touch ID For: iPhone Unlock" is turned off.

If I attempt to turn it on I receive a screen that says "Failed - Unable to complete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again." but I haven't had a chance to do anything.

It also does not appear to have any history of my finger prints.

I had checked these forums for answers to this problem and found that this issue seems to have occurred in earlier version of iOS 8. I tired one of the fixes which involved resetting my Network Settings. This worked and my finger print records returned and I was able to use Touch ID again for a few hours, but then I found the issue reappeared.

Retrying this fix no longer gives me the same result. I have also tried restarting the device several times to no avail.

I'm pretty sure this is not a hardware issue because it only began after the update and the issue was temporarily resolved by a known fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

You,re so lucky, and thanks for your advice.

However diffrent thing happened to me. They restore my 2 weeks old iphone 6, but after that my iphone 6 totally dead in their store. I asked for replacement, but they said they just an Apple authorized reseller and only can bring the phone to warranty service center. They said theres no apple store in here, in my country.

At first they told me that this will be solved within 1 week - several months, and after a tough debate, they promised to repalce with new one within 1 week

but to tell the truth, its difficult for me to trust right now. I will update this matter in this forum.

I do like Apple product and bought ipod, iphone 5, mac book pro , macbook air because their good design, user experience and relliability off course. But after this happened to me, I'm affraid of Apple's quality control as well as the after sales service. i hate to write this, but I really dissapointed

I got the replacement as per their promise ! thanks!

It was a long long 1 week.

Now, I hope Im lucky enough to have a good iphone 6.

I just upgraded to 8.3 and it still doesn't work 😟
