Wifi dongle in Yosemite?

Yesterday my airport gave me the error that it can't find it. I think my cable gave up because it was loose and when I inserted it back my bluetooth is available but my airport not. I reinstalled Yosemite on my Macbook pro mid 2010, but after the reinstallation airport isn't even mentioned in the system preferences > network.

Is this a problem with the card or the cable? Anyway to find out?

On the other hand I bought a USB wifi dongle today: Sitecom N300 Wifi USB Adapter. It is mac compatible, but 10.8 it the latest support. When I try to install it I can't click install in the wizard, so I guess it's not compatible with 10.10?

Does anyone have an idea to get this to work? Or an other compatible wifi dongle?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
