My iphone keeps sending me coding along with my messages please help?!!!
iPhone 5s, iOS 8.2
I just got off the phone with T-Mobile customer service. They are indeed having issues with text messaging. They said they are working on it, but there's no ETA for the fix.
Here's another post on Apple with more users having the same issue: Re: Group messages coming in as HTML or Base 64
Someone is sending HTML code in a text message. It looks like SPAM.

Have you tried resetting your phone?
Anja54 - please ask the other person to post about the problem he/she is having. Sometimes this stuff is hard enough to troubleshoot without going through yet another person.

Did resetting your phone help?
Sorry I should have phrased that differently, the people receiving MY texts are seeing them in code, while on my end, my texts look regular. Restarting it didn't help, I suppose I could try resetting it or maybe I'll just reset the network settings... this is also in a group message with one other iphone user and and android user, I'm wondering if it's just with group messaging?
It's not spam. It's SMIL markup language for devices to know how to format media content, slideshow, and multipart text content. Problem was patched late Friday. One carrier might be sending code that another carrier was not expecting resulting in broken multipart content. In this instance, group content. Resetting phones is not going to help as the issue was on the server side. All it takes is a missing bracket, quote, etc for XML to break and end up displaying on the device as text instead of background instruction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronized_Multimedia_Integration_Language
the other recipient in the message just got a normal message. He also has an iPhone
Have you asked T-Mobile?
no not yet I'm going to restart it first and see if it resolves itself
Good step. Let us know how it works out.
I have been having this problem, just now , too. I have t-mobile and an Iphone 5. So, it might have something to do with t-mobile.
Same issue here, but the other end is receiving the html code and the texts on my end appear normal. Verizon is my carrier though, what's going on 😟
Nope not one bit. I just received a normal non-group text message and it also gave me a code. I received some before and it was fine.
Thanks for the update!
yes thank you! I was worried anonymous was hacking into my phone 😉
