Mail inbox opens halfway down my list of emails

I had this problem too, fix was to move the email (the one mail opens on) to another folder, close and restart mail (mine opened on another email in my inbox), then move that original email back to your inbox, restart and voila!

Seems that if you just delete the bogus email, it will pick another, until you do the above.. then you can delete the emails if you wish.

Not only do I have the exact same problem, but when I typed in my question it was in the exact same language as the OP. Just registering the fact that this is systemic (and annoying), in case Apple Engineers are paying attention to this thread.

Was there a resolution to this I'm having the same problem?

I have had this problem and don't know what causes it, but I have found that if you tap inside the bar right at the top of the list, above where it says "Inbox", the list will jump to the top.

ABsolutely the same problem. And i keep waking up and answering letters to my lawyers sent six months ago

i just answered a mail which was a bill for ten thousand dollars in anger saying 'whats this bill for?'

then i realised it wasnt the latest email.. rather, the app has opened two months into the oast. I jave to scroll as fast as possible with finger on screen for about twelve or more screens to get to the top of inbox

Apple products have become buggier and buggier with every ios and osx update (to the point where my imac, macbook airs, and mac mini are relegated to the store room because they need ten minutes black screen with apple symbol just to start up in sierra, and am now back on a windows pc for the first time in seven years, because my windows pc starts uo in less than six seconds, whereas the Macs take about at least five minutes to arrive at desktop. The other reason i returning to windows, is because i was waiting for the new macbooks hoping they finally came up to present technology with some touchscreen devices

but they gave us a gimmick called the 'Oled Bar', which will be the subject of humour in the future. So i decided its a surface book pro and a surface studio for me. All i need now is a mobile mail solution for is ipad, so my mail administraton comes back to normal.

BUt i still use te iPad and the mail app, amd have this same mail problem.

THere does not seem to be a solution, and considering how little Apple worked on Mail app over the years, and how simple it remains (cant format default fonts and font sizes in new mails.. tiny text no text wrap issues), i dont think they are going to fix it.

also, if someone sends me an attachment (say a pdf), and there is a long chain of replies to each other in the email, en the pdf attachments will apoear seventyfive mails diwn the page at the footer of the email, below the earliest mail sent in the chain. so when my lawyers send me a bill replying to an email which had fifty conversatons previously, then i have to scroll down fifty replies, to find the attachment from the top, latest email reply.!!!

that is also stupid i have accused people of not attaching the file because it was not visible in their email, only later to find Apple had decided to insert it at the bottom of all the whole long backdated conversation !!!

There are dozens of other email apps available in the App Store. What ones have you tried?
