Safari won't open websites--says server has stopped responding. What do I do?

Safari will not open websites. It says server has stopped responding. What do I do? (EXACTLY, because I don't know tech talk, please).

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.


It sounds like you’re running into an issue with Safari not opening websites on your iPad Air. Try the general app troubleshooting suggestions in the article linked below.

If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support

Restart the app

Close the app and open it again.


Restart your device

Turn your device off and back on.


Check for iOS and app updates

Make sure that you're using latest version of iOS.


If the Safari issue persists, you can try restoring the iPad as shown here:
