Civilization Specs

Hello, I recently downloaded the demo for Civilization IV. I have a Macbook 2.0 Ghrz, and 1 GB of Ram. when I luanched the demo, it says that the game will not run on my hardware specs. However, when I visited the Apple site where I downloaded it from, all the specs seem to match up. I want to buy this game, but if the demo dosnt work, than the game won't either. Could someone please have a look, or If someone knows from their own experiances that the game works, please tell me! all replies are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

It looks like Aspyr yanked code out willy nilly, probably to keep the download as small as possible. It won't run on my MacBook either but I have the actual game installed on it and runs pretty well with graphics set pretty minimally. Near the end of a long game things get a big slow, otherwise it works fine - I have 2GB but I'd guess 1GB is the secret number.

On my G5 desktop the demo looks odd - the fog of war doesn't seem to go away as I explore. Again, the real game is just fine. The demo did run fine on a G5 Mac Mini - so I'm guessing it was fine tuned for that.

Hey Petey, I hven't played the demo, but I have the full version and it plays excellent on my Macbook. I have the same specs as you do and it runs great. Just one time I had this huge game going and near the end, it lagged a little. The sound sometimes is screwy, but that could just be the crappy speakers in the Macbook. So, anyways I'd go and buy it.
