Two 'on' positions what do they do
have a 5 year old (?) shuffle and no manual. The shuffle seems to have two 'on' positions. What do they do differently from each other - if anything? Thanks

Thank you but this manual is for an earlier version of the shuffle. Unfortunately it does not match the shuffle I have

a 5-year-old iPod Shuffle would be the 3rd-gen (your signature says 2nd, but the 2nd-gen combines these functions into two separate switches). If yours looks like the image here:
