new nano announces name of song 2-17 times during song

That is strange. The iPod announces the name of the song when the play/pause button in the side is pressed down for about 2 seconds. The button might be stuck or you might be accidentally depressing it. Or try going into settings, general, accessibility, VoiceOver, and if it's on turn it off.
