How do I save photos & videos on iCloud to free up storage on my iPad?

Go to Settings>iCloud>and make sure "Photos" is turned ON.

Thanks, Ethan7988! That was on. Sooo...now I can delete photos from my Photo Stream & they won't be taken away from the iCloud photos?
Don't mean to sound dumb, but I'm afraid of deleting photos from Photo Stream/Camera & losing them completely.

Photo stream photos are deleted after 30 days anyway. You will have to back up your photos using iCloud or iTunes.
