I used find my iphone yesterday (my daughters iphone6)

I used the "Find my Iphone" app (have been using to keep track of my daughter) and I check her frequent locations as well...so far in the frequent locations until last week they had all been pretty accurate but there is one location that puts her not even close to where she is suppose to be and questioning her about it she says it must be wrong because she was never there...so since then I have randomly been checking her location with the find my iphone app and yesterday i checked it several times within a 4 hr period and is had her where she was suppose to be but last night I checked her frequent locations and 2 hrs out of the 4 it has her at a completely different location (not even close to where it had registered her on the app does anyone know why or what could make this happen?

If you had your number forwarded to another cell phone would it confuse the tracking system....just a random thought because it doesnt make sense to me how it could have different readings like that...Greatly appreciate any help!

Yea I didnt think it was, that was just the best thing I could come up with. I mainly went with the iphone because of all of the positive reviews on the locations and tracking of the iphone so I'm trying to determine if the phone is wrong because if it can be that off then its really not reliable at all or is it a better chance that I'm being lied to...???

If you don't have an actual answer or anything to say that could be helpful why are you bothering to respond...are u really that bored? And just to clarify lets say I'm at work (great signal strength) and for 45 days straight I get an almost to the point exact location but then on the 46th day of being in the same place as the last 45 days it has my location on the other side of town, thats definitely less than perfect and my phone which right now has over 125 frequent locations all over town and every one of them has been accurate not to the point but within comfortable range so I just kind of wanted to make sure its not the phone or location services before I get on her case I dont expect a 100% yes or no answer just wanted to know if anyone else has had any experiences like this with their phone. Would love some help but only from someone who actually wants to help Please & Thank you!! 🙂

GPS positioning depends on getting a clear signal from the satellites. New generation GPS receivers, like those on iPhones are vastly more sensitive than those in the past but it may occur that while being in an interior location signal is lost. Location Services then falls back on Wi-Fi and cell tower tracking, which in turn depend on haphazardly maintained databases of known Wi-Fi hotspots that can be wildly off as well as cell tower locations that may not give accurate triangulation. That's when you may end up in New Jersey when attempting to reach Niagara.

That's the way the cookie crumbles and why there's a disclaimer in the warranty stating that Location Services should not be used for purposes that may put life in jeopardy if failure occurs.

I appreciate everyones help...I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but obviously thats not easy which is why I'm tracking her in the first place. It is kind of hard to believe that all locations have been right until this point (since Christmas when she got the phone) and now its suddenly freaking out but if its possible that it can jump 20 miles across town w/o u being in that area at all then I cant really accuse her because the last thing i want to do is accuse her of lieing if she isnt so I guess theres not much I can do...but Thank you for all of your input!
