Whenever I connect my iPhone or iPad to my iMac, iPhoto opens. This started within the last week or two. Any suggestions? Are there some Preferences I can change to stop this? Thank you.
iMac and MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
Launch iPhoto and go to Preferences>General>Connecting Camera Opens>No Application.
That is the preferences I have and it still happens. It is not a major problem and I can live with it. Thanks for the info.
Take a look at this article and note the section about disabling iPhoto for certain devices. Maybe that will help.
I trust that you have totally quit iPhoto and rebooted your Mac?
In addition to what Demo states, you have to make sure to disable each device individually. Check this as well.
Note that there's also an additional setting within the Image Capture app in your OS X applications. Plug in your device, open Image Capture, click on the connected device, then select "No application" for that device at the bottom-left pane. Having this setting set to iPhoto WILL open iPhoto when the device is connected.
That is what the second part of the article that I referenced above talked about. I was too lazy to post the instructions like you did. 🙂
