Word document not autosaved

Word document not autosaved

Hi everyone

I was working on a document in the Word app for ipad. Unfortunately my daughter borrowed the ipad to make a skype call, and closed the app.

Now I can't find the document.

I didn't save it - stupid me, I know! - but the internet keeps telling me that Word for ipad autosaves everything. Is this true? If so, how can I find the document?

(I think the autosave feature was turned on already in Word).

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Did you try tapping the Recent Icon or the Open Icon on the left side of the app? You may have the file in the cloud and when you tap Open, you can see files on iPad, DropBox or iCloud Drive. Tap those options and check to see where the file is.

Hello

Thanks for the suggestion - but no, there's nothing under the 'Recent' icon. It's really strange - I can't understand why it wouldn't autosave.

Did you try here for help? You can just tap on Help and Support at the bottom of the window that you will see in the screenshot below to get the same help page.

And you did check to make sure that you have Auto Save turned on?
