Why does Mail app always open at the same email on iPad?

Specs:

- iPad 2

- iOS 8.2

Each time I open my Mail app on my iPad it shows me an email message from a year ago. This makes me scroll for minutes before I can see the latest message. Why is it always stuck at this email message?

One way I can avoid the problem (but not get rid of it) is to flag a recent message in my Mail on my Macbook Pro and when it syncs (IMAP) the flag is synced as well. So then I can tap on that last flagged message and there I go, I'm closer at the top of my list.

Is anyone experiencing this as well?

And does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

They really do need a not helpful button. So many answers are like a copy paste of some help article the person asking the question has already referenced. Have you seen the Windows help suggestion though that says "Ask a friend"? It's like what in the what kind of people do you think I know..

Should be easier to create a bug report or something..I think there used to be a option in the Apple logo on Macs where anyone could just report something. What ever happened to Think Different?

Same problem here only I was assuming that the problem was with me, something that I was doing wrong. I can’t believe that apple‘s email app doesn’t work, they’ve been in the business for a while and email is something that they should be able to provide. This is my first Ipad and it is a disappointment. I wish that the app would open to a list of emails as it does on OS X

For iPad issue - Not sure if someone else has suggested or tried this already. You do not have to delete anything or lose anything;

a). Go to settings.

b). Select accounts and password.

c). Select AOL Mail.

d). Delete Account.

e). Select Add Account.

f). Add AOL Account (name, email, passwor), should be good-to- go after that.

I have not had any issues since doing that. Of course since I have said that, I am sure it will happen now, ha-ha-ha! Hopefully, Apple and AOL can work together to fully resolve this issue and send out notifications to all users rega the resolution.

Hello BassPlaya,

It sou nds like your Mail app keeps opening the to the same email. I would start by quitting the Mail app:

iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

All the best,

on iPhone (5s 16 Gb , iOS 9.1) no problems .

I've already tried to make a full reset of the iPad; it worked, but after a one week, it happened again with a different mail,

Does somebody has some better hints
