Macbook pro retina is slowing down?

Hello, I got an early 2014 Retina Macbook pro 13" like an year and a month ago. I got it as a gift ( don't tell me I'm spoiled or anything because I'm not this is the only thing I didn't pay myself, and I also never asked for it ) after my old laptop was dying. Anyway, it's been doing great for the whole year, but it's been a few months it started slowing down a bit. Now it's becoming more slow, and I'd like to know how to make it faster. I've already searched for answers but nothing helped.

I know the specs aren't that great but I didn't choose them so yeah :

- Intel dual core i5 at 2.4Ghz ( with turbo boost to 2.9 Ghz )

- 4gb of ram

- 128 gb SSD

- running on OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite

( not the best I know )

But as I said it was very fast.

I also don't play games, or edit videos, so I don't really need a very powerful laptop. I only surf the internet, listen to music ( on youtube or iTunes ), check my emails, do my homework on open office, and I always talk to my bestfriend on Viber.

Sometimes Viber crashes or becomes laggy, also scrolling on web pages becomes sometimes laggy. I also got only one problem with this macbook, about a year ago I got the white screen of death but I managed to make it work again.

I only have 34 gb of flash storage left, but I can't transfer my photos and videos to an external hard drive because I don't have one yet.

What can I do to make it faster? Will reinstalling Yosemite make it faster? Or downgrading to Mavericks? If so can you please give me some instructions on how to because I don't know.

Thank you!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), Macbook Pro 13" Retina Display

Perhaps that is as good as the VirtualBox uninstaller gets. It is free software after all. Restart your machine, run EtreCheck again, and post the results. That will show what is left over and still needs to be removed.

Here is how you can remove Flavours:

1) In the Finder, choose "Go to Folder..." from the "Go" menu

2) In the the "Go to the folder:" dialog that appears, enter the following:

/Library/LaunchDaemons

3) Click the "Go" button.

4) In the "LaunchDaemons" Finder window, locate the file named "net.interacto.flavours.helper.plist" and drag it to your desktop

5) Restart

6) Delete the file "net.interacto.flavours.helper.plist" on your desktop.

At this point, Flavours will no longer be running. It will still be partially installed, but not taking up any more RAM.

With a little luck, the VirtualBox uninstaller will have done something useful and you will be done. If not, I can give you a similar set of instructions that will remove VirtualBox. We will know more after the next EtreCheck report you post.

You definitely need to get a Time Machine backup drive. On the bright side, since your SSD is so small to begin with, you should be able to get a suitable backup drive for $100 or maybe less.

I also did the steps on how to remove Flavours, but there wasn't any file named that way in the folder.

Also, Linc Davis, I did it because, I don't know to me it seems easier, I'm not an expert with computers. Also, if I go to the Apple store, do you think they can do anything for me even though my macbook is not under warranty anymore? I live in France by the way, if that changes anything..
