Ipad restore

Hi all.

I seem to have a problem with restoring my Ipad after an OS upgrade. I turn on the iPad and select restore via iTunes. The iPad acts as if the whole thing has been wiped. in iTunes I click on restore from back up, and I get an error saying that I can't restore without first turning off find my iPad on the device. I can't access anything on the device other than a prompts to hook to a wifi network (which I have done) and to restore or setup as a brand new iPad.

I'm at the point of selecting to start as a new iPad and just hope that it will accept my backup....

How can I turn off Find my iPad in order to restore my backup to this unit?

Thanks for any help.

You are going to have to log into iCloud on the computer and remove the device from the iCloud account from there. See this support document about turning off Find My iPhone from iCloud, by using the selection for "Use these steps if you have an iCloud account and have Find My iPhone turned on.
