Since changing my password iTunes keeps asking for a password every time I log on

ever since I changed my password iTunes repeatedly asks for my password every time I open iTunes. Usually twice but often three or four times. Since I have a long password this is really inconvenient to say the least. I have tried signing out and back in again to no avail. How can I get iTunes to remember me? I am using windows 7 64bit and the latest iTunes version.
