Downloading all songs to phone from cloud

I recently noticed that none of my songs are actually stored on my new iPhone 6 plus . I noticed it because I live in remote Rocky Mountains where there are large dark areas and music stopped while I was driving. I could not find any option on the phone to download all songs. I've searched and read many "options" trying to find a easy way to do this. To my dismay and irritation there isn't an easy way to do this. I'm wondering why, since this should be an obvious tool someone would want. I purchased a 64G phone just for this reason. If I'm missing the easy way to do this that doesn't involve having to select every single song or album or creating a playlist please advise. Thanks!

I've also been annoyed for some time that syncing is only one way for playlists. Example, playlists created on my phone cannot be synced to itunes on my computer. And any syncing with itunes immediately wipes out whats on the phone. This is not user friendly at all. The entire iTunes process has become convoluted and frustrating.

I just want my songs to actually exist on my phone, not the cloud. I don't want to be tethered to a signal to be able to listen to music. I don't understand why anyone would think thats acceptable. I know this isn't the complaint dept, but I cant imagine I'm the only one who is experiencing this.

You have only two options.

1. Create a playlist that contains all of your music. Then you can mass download.

a. One tip for you is to either have your phone plugged in or turn the screen timer up. The wifi radio will turn off otherwise and make the process take that much longer.

2. Turn off iTunes Match on your phone. Connect your iPhone to your computer and then sync.

Let me know if you have any questions. I've gone through this process with a few phones now. I agree, it is a pretty big pain.
