iphone 4s not charging

Hi All,

My iphiine 4s is 3 years old am regularly updated with the latest IOS version and itunes, after connecting to itunes last night my phone stops charging now....

it s not charging while ON state tried with power cable and PC as well its not detecting.

Please help how to resolve this. Am sure its due to software problems, because if its in OFF state it works.
