I have changed my email address but can't find anyway to change it for the community. I've changed it for Apple iTunes ID. It is suggested that I delete my community account and create a new one but if I do that presumably I'll lose my question history?

You can change your email address but NOT your user name unless the circumstances are very special indeed.
Click on your name (in blue, above) > go to profile > Actions > edit profile > and change the email address > then save. Should be done.
