My iPod Classic has been synched to a windows computer. I have now bought a Mac, how do I reset it to work with the mac?

I have been using my iPod Classic for years with my old Windows computer, I have recently bought a Macbook Pro laptop, and now iTunes will not recognise the iPod, I can't even see the iPod in Finder devices.

I understand that somehow I have to wipe the iPod and install iOS software, but how?

Hello GRodaway,

Try putting your iPod classing into Disk Mode and then plug it into your Mac. Once there, iTunes should be able to see it to be restored. Check out the article below for more details.
