Should I use a keyboard cover/skin for my rMBP?

Hi,

My keyboard is turning a bit oily. I do clean it with a clean cloth, but I'm considering buying a keyboard skin for my rMBP. I do remember reading somewhere that it could actually be harmful as there's minor venting from the keyboards and I'll be trapping the heat inside if I use a skin. Thoughts?

I don't use any keyboard skins for that very reason. If you hover you hand over the keys you will feel some warmth. Also, the top of the keyboard where the lid lifts up ventilates. Some skins partially or completely cover that part. I use an Apple Wireless Keyboard since my rMBP is mostly stationary on a desk.

My thoughts: Covers transfer fingerprints and oil to the screen and makes typing bad and serves no real purpose other than looks. In cases of a spills, it does not help, contrary to beliefs on the subject. Fans direct heat flow vented out back ports and

air intake is generally from side openings, A cover would not alter nor keep heat inside...😉
