I'm about to purchase Reaktor and will be installing
it to run in conjunction with Logic Pro 7.1 Some
questions:
1. is it easy to install as an audio unit? I've never
attempted this before, are there any hidden things i
need to bear in mind? I am running mac osx 3.5, with
Logic 7.1, will Reaktor run ok?
Just make sure you follow the instructions carefully. Once you have installed, you will need to update Reaktor, depending on the retail pack you get. (there have been a couple of updates over the last few months).
It should be fairly straight forward and definitely easier if your Logic machine is connected to the net. Makes registration really easy!
2. Is it easy to slave Reaktor as I do all my
programming/sequencing in Logic? What about doing
control changes etc... on the Reaktor instruments
functions eg filter/attack/release etc...?
Sorry if this sounds a little weak as i'm sure the
manuals explain everything fully. Thanks!
I don't bother slaving Reaktor outside of Logic. I use it within Logic, as an Audio Instrument. It is fairly easy to automate things, depending on the ensemble you are running at the time.
The other bonus that not many people talk about, is the fact that there are some great Effects and mastering plgs available for Reaktor.
Have fun with it... It truely is a beast with so many downloadable ensembles!
