iPhone camera roll video won't play

Some videos from a few months ago that I have saved to my camera roll won't play. What comes up is a little loading circle like it is trying to load the video but it never plays. I know for a fact that when the videos were saved, they worked. All of them are saved videos from snapchat, but some work and others don't. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Thanks.

Are there other solutions to this fix or more importantly, can Apple just fix this so we don't have to do weird solutions? I am unable to view videos I recorded months ago (all this year) after my twins were born. These are all very important videos to me and it is frustrating that I can't even watch "first time" videos of my babies. What was the point of me buying a large capacity phone to hold all this when the phone won't play videos or takes forever to load an old picture?

I had this problem when I updated my iPhone 5 to iso8. Fix for me was to select the video, but instead of playing it, there is a tab at the bottom of the screen, chose the icon 2nd from right (looks like music sheet) 3 horizontal lines. It should now show circle slowly filling up and saying downloading video. Depending on the size of the video shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Then your video should play normally. Hope this works for you.

It's brilliant because the average user will buy a new phone to get more storage since they can't upgrade.

And iCloud is meant to link multiple Apple devices together, not so much as a backup storage area. It's more for multiple Apple devices in a little ecosystem, so they all stay together.

Of course the average user of other devices can probably manage that on their own as well. I feel iCloud is for those who want all the work done for them automatically, when it works how it should of course.

I originally posted here bcuz my vids wouldn't play. Then I had to delete a whole lot of stuff bcuz my phone was full. After deleted several apps I wasn't using to free up space and speed my phone back up, my videos started playing again. So I don't know if that will help or not.

Go to : Settings>General> Storage> Manage Storage

And see if your almost out of storage. If so delete some things and hopefully your videos will play again. 😀

I had the exact same problem for a while now, any videos that I had on my camera roll wouldn't play at all. I had tried everything that the discussion boards suggested. What I found worked for me was turning on my iCloud backup on my phone (settings > your name at the top > iPhone > iCloud backup) . I had always had it set to backup only when I plug it into my computer however right after I had toggled it over to have it backup on my phone I realized my videos began loading and playing.

This is currently happening to me as well, except not a single video will load nor can I send them in messages. Also the same with my pictures they all show a ! Sign at the bottom of them. And I have deleted almost everything on my phone and it still says the memory is full. I had android before I switched to iPhone man was that a mistake, I never had any of these problems with my android galaxy phones if you have never had an android and your experiencing here problem if I were you I would switch to android and give it a try i am sick and tired of all the problems with iPhone and now I am switching back to android as soon as I can.
