connect iPod classic 120GB to bluetooth

I have an unused iPod Classic that I'd like to play on my new car stereo via bluetooth. I know I need a transmitter. Any recommendations what to buy?

iPod classic (120 GB), Mac OS X (10.4.11)

You could try the Layen Bluetooth transmitter. See this page: http://www.layen-uk.com/Black-iPod-Bluetooth-Transmitter_p_64.html

I use one of these myself. It plugs into the iPod's 30-pin dock connector, so be aware that it takes its power from the iPod, and as a consequence the iPod will run out of battery more quickly when using it.

Alternatively, if your iPod's battery is past its best, or if you prefer not to use the iPod to power the Bluetooth transmitter, you could try the version that plugs into the iPod's headphone socket, which uses its own internal rechargeable battery; http://www.layen-uk.com/LAYEN-BST--Bluetooth-Transmitter_p_69.html

There are other makes of Bluetooth transmitter available.

I do not receive any reward, in any form, for my recommendation of any Layen product.
