How do I get iphoto back after Yosemite 10.10.3

I have just added the Yosemite 10.10.3 security update to my macbook pro and found that iPhoto has been replaced by a piece of software called Photos.

The replacement application was not wanted and has been forced onto my machine without asking.

Question is.... How do I get my original iPhoto back and the photographs without resorting to a full restore?

Any ideas..... please.....

Yes of course.

Here's the text I sent them:

Photos is vastly inferior to iPhoto.

Those of us who missed the latest update to iPhotos before the release of Photos couldn't update - in my case I was helped very efficiently by an Apple telephone support person and others via the forums, for which many thanks.

Not all are so fortunate.

In the last couple of years Apple seem to consider the user, WHO MAY WELL NOT HAVE THE TIME for all the updates as they occur, to need to jump through their hoops in the right order immediately without warning and abandon well-functioning apps for immature and inferior new ones. The disappearance of iPhoto from the App Store unless one has PURCHASED it previously (i.e. not received it bundled with a new machine) is scandalous.

Please bring it back.

Right on! For my iphoto book that was lost when I updated to Yosemite (same problem, iphoto came bundled with my iMac) I contacted apple and they were able to do a reorder from my last order. But I can't get the file back from them! Where did you send your comments to Apple? I would like to send mine. I'm still ticked off after more than a month. Photo is not a satisfactory product. C
