iOS 8.3 just screwed up my keyboard

Indeed, by turning off 'zoom' in 'settings > accessibility' the error went away (this was used in conjunction with other settings to add an extra layer mask to the screen which would increase and decrease the screen brightness by triple pressing the home button).

The only issue I am having now is the fact that my Swype keyboard is not loading.

Yep turning off zoom fixed it.

can't believe apple can screw up so bad on many fronts - all issues in 8.3 release.

Tried all these ideas, two pages worth. No help at all. This stinks.

I had this problem too. I tried a bunch of stuff (including waiting a couple of days to see if it would sort itself out, and a complete reset of the device and restore from backup).

The thing that fixed it for me was resetting my keyboard dictionary settings (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Keyboard Dictionary).

Incidentally I also have zoom mode active, but didn't try turning it off.

This also worked for me. Icloud and reset didn't do anything but deleting the Emoji Add keyboard worked.

I have the same thing going on - it hesitates while typing and then the IRRITATING pinwheel comes on several times making me crazy. What is going on? It was fine until I updated.

I will try that.... sheesh... what next?

I also had to delete the emoji add keyboard on my iPad Air to fix the problem. I am not having any issues on my iPhone 6 Plus even though it is also updated to iOS 8.3

I just fixed this same issue on my phone by going into Accessibility and turning off the "Follow Focus" option. I know I did not turn that on myself - must have been something related to the update. I do use the zoom to further dim my screen and the keyboard glitch was only happening when I had that on. Now I can use the zoom to dim and my keyboard works fine!!

A followup: I was able to stop the problem, thanks to later postings. Went into General>Accessibility, turned off zoom. Problem stopped, but colors were then inverted. Went back to the same area and found invert colors was active, killed that, all good. Apparently invert colors was canceled by zoom?

I have been having an occasional problem with accidentally activating Siri and then having to hit home button three times (not fast) to escape it, then having to use the fast three taps to get rid of inverted colors. I hope that one is gone, too!

gglad I read this. I had the zoon triple click dim screen trick going on. turning off zoom fixed my problem instantly.

i also was having issues in apps not refreshing when closing overlayed popups. seems to have fixed it there too

The consensus around here is that the Accessibility area of iPhone is broken. Go there and turn off everything you find left active. Amazing they haven't recognized this yet publicly.
