I have this problem too. I've already tried to replace Network definitions and had no luck. This is a serious issue because i have to pay for 3G/4G data usage! I've payed a loto for this iphone and i need this to be fixed asap!

I am so annoyed and frustrated. I have an ipad2, daughter has mini ipad2 - never had any problems with 8.0, 8.1 or 8.2, and then we upgraded to 8.3 a couple of days ago - big mistake. Now trying to get wifi is like old style dial up, and if we are lucky enough to connect after 20 minutes, we then lose it after 5 minutes. Then of course there's the fact the battery is lasting 3 hours if we're lucky - both devices used to last 3 days! I am really, really angry about this, I've tried the reset and the unplugging router etc - nothing works and we're without internet connection, except for my iphone 4 which seems to have been unaffected. What are Apple doing about this? What is so frustrating is we never had problems with any of the previous upgrades, but now the upgrade that was supposed to sort things for those that did have problems, has caused us problems (and from what I'm reading not helped those other sufferers in any event!). Like someone else has said - I want wifi not emoji's and even my 10 year old daughter agrees! APPLE DO SOMETHING

Honestly, I have tried everything. I talk to my internet provider, contacted apple care, reset my router and network multiple times, basically there is nothing on the list of possibilities I haven't tried. Apple care suggested I bring the phone in to a store, it might be a hardware issue, and they can replace it if anything. However, I don't know if that will fix the problem. I've seen a lot of posts where user have received new phones and the new phones have the same problem. I was trouble free till I upgraded as well. So, I can't help it but believe that it is a software issue with iOS 8.3 and not an issue with the phone's hardware. I couldn't connect at all for a few weeks. At this time, my phone will connect sometimes to my home network and sometimes it won't (mostly won't). If it does connect, like many users on this thread, connection will just drop on its own. There are times it won't connect to the networks it knows automatically, I have to go in and select the network from the available networks list. OR my phone will keep saying cannot connect to network/enter the password. I shouldn't have to enter a password for a network it already knows and has been connected to before. I don't think all of us are having hardware issues. If Apple wants to say it's probably a problem with our phones then I don't know what makes them look worse, 8.3 being a bad iOS or responding back that the problem might be a hardware issue. It's Apple basically saying a lot of us might have bad phones.

Apple really needs to come out with an new IOS that truly addresses this issue. Their fix didn't really fix the problem. Luckily, I'm on T-Mobile now so I don't have to worry about going over my data cap. It's still inconvenient because T-Mobile slows my speed down after I've used 2.5 gb of data. I would never go over that before. Now that I can't connect I find myself having to deal with slower speeds on my phone and no wifi.

Just glomming-on to add to the calls for a Wifi problem fix. I'm one of those who did NOT have any Wifi probs with my iPad Air 2 until upgrading to 8.3 (8.2 worked ok). Now, I get disconnects all the time; prompts to re-enter Wifi password (which isn't accepted)...ironic that the update which was supposed to fix this problem actually introduced it for me.

Has Apple forgotten that their success was built on usability and reliability? If iOS is going to become as unstable as Android, I might as well switch so I can at least enjoy more bells & whistles...and an open mobile OS. Of course, I would much prefer the rock-solid iOS of years past...

This is why I refuse to update my iPads OS.. I won't update my Macbook's OS either, because people have said the update is messing up their wifi connection on their macbook. While I can deal with my phone not connecting to wifi because there's always my data plan, I can't have my macbook not connect to wifi. I came back from android for the same reasons as you.

Yep same problem here. Second iPhone 5s same problem. I've gone over on my data plan because of this twice. Installed the update hoping for a fix all I got was an apple watch app I won't ever use and can't delete. Thanks a bunch Apple. That Galaxy S6 is starting to look kinda good to me. Oh and I'm tired of hearing reset network or disable wifi networking or any of these other things it doesn't fix anything Ive tried them all on two different phones.

  • In my case with a iPad mini with NO cellular and a Billion 7401GVP R3 router the WiFi issue is still not resolved!
  • I can connect a Windows PC, a Samsung Galaxy TAB, a Samsung phone, an Asus eeePc, a MacBook pro and iPhone to the above router and establish a secure WPA2-PSK connection to wifi with 100% uptime.
  • BUT when I try to connect the iPad it falls over every time until I did the following to recover for a sort period of time.

STEPS TAKEN

Re-boot ipad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. page 128 iPad user manual.

Then force power down if the above gives you trouble. Hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button. Ten seconds or more. Hold until the Apple logo appears. more details on re-booting: http://ipad.about.com/od/iPad_Guide/ss/How-To-Reboot-Your-iPad-Power-Off.htm

Restore to factory settings by loading the latest version of ios that your machine will support:

Do a full backup of your device. Twice is best -- cloud and computer.

Then use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to factory settings and the latest version of iOS. Connect using ipad cable to USB.

Put your iOS device into recovery mode, then restore it using iTunes by holding down power and Home button until iTunes device logo and cable appears instead of Apple on iPad screen.:

ROUTER
rename and reset password to alpha characters only.

Last resort was to edit the router name to simplify it with no numerics (alpha only) all lowercase and also create a simple alpha (lowercase no numbers) password for WPA2-PSK

End Result?

Wifi keeps dropping out after a period of time 30 mins or so and you need to Reset the network (Settings/General/Reset) and relogin to WiFi.

iCloud fails as well after a period time so the connection to the iCloud username and password as well as the WiFi are linked together with this issue of dropout.

Very unsatisfactory and unstable behaviour that needs to be rectified by Apple. It all worked fine before iOS 8.3.
