Same problem with wifi speed for me, MBPr late 2013, I've done some test and here are result, wifi speed is the slowest on 5GHz band, when I switch to 2,4GHz band, speed is better, turn off bluetooth has positive efect to wifi speed. When I'm conneted PC via thunderbolt 2 -> Ethernet adapter, the speed is more then 6x slower with turn on bluetooth then with bluetooth is turned off!!!

I've not found any solotion for this moment.

I tried most of the tricks explained in the OSXdaily page, excepts setting up a new location, as I found that just too weird... nothing really worked:

- resetting the SMC

- clearing the PRAM

- playing with the bluetooth (which was a pain as I have my mouse & trackpad relying on it...)

- removing all USB3.0 peripherals

As I was about to try the new location setup, I decided to download the Combo 10.10.3 update directly on the apple support website... that did the trick!

To be honest it's not 100% perfect. at startup my mac mini 2014 hooks on the Wifi & Internet very fast (I'd say normally fast). It's just that when the Mac is going out of sleep mode, it takes 10 to 30 second for it to hook onto the internet. That's therefore not perfect (thought I can't say if it comes from the mac or from my router) but that's definitely much better than before!!

I haven't tried to test if the internet connection was stable for a long time so far, but so far it looks like it is...

Don't know if this will fix it for everyone, but for me this did the trick. It was iCloud Photo uploading all my photos that was causing the slowness. I paused it in Photos>Preferences>iCloud. Speed was back to normal.

My guess is they aren't properly throttling the upload speeds - or Apple's servers are way overloaded.

What is your upload speed and how big is the library you are trying to upload?

Sure, 32 hours...assuming a couple of things:

1. That the full 5Mbps is available to Photos (which it wouldn't be under normal use)

2. That Apple's Servers are able to accept that amount (my guess is they are probably under heavy load right now with the entire OSX user community uploading billions of photos across the world.

I'm not sure what they did behind the scenes, but they should limit the upload to use only a certain amount of bandwidth so as not to affect other things (like browsing).

The problems I was experience was while browsing it would take forever for DNS resolution. Which lead me down the whole mDNSResponder versus discoveryd path for quite a while. Turns out it wasn't that at all. Makes sense now, browser was doing it's DNS lookup and couldn't because of overload.

At least that's my theory...

Sorry, missed that. So here's something interesting, when I paused it, it said "Uploading 10,628 photos", but the progress bar had no indication that it had uploaded anything yet.

I turned it back on to test something and it's still at that same number with no indication of any progress. But my speed goes back to slow again. Turn it off I'm fine.

You would think after 7 days that some progress would be indicated. Me'thinks there is a problem with Photos & iCloud.
