They are a security problem for anyone whose phone has been stolen or seized by law enforcement. Of course, if you never expect either of these to happen to you that's good for you, but I want my data to be safe in these situations.

I don't have to be secure concerning my ebooks or mp3s. Someone getting my iPhone will have no easy access to critical data, with or wothout access to 'subdirectory' structures (it doesn't matter if they are real OS subdirectoryies or sub-entries within database structures).

Thank goodness. All that drama and the App's Developers were only a week behind. Some will be much further behind than that!!

Sorry to pour water into the wine as well. But with the latest version of iMazing (like with iXplorer), still 'as of iOS 8.3, only Apps with "File Sharing Enabled" can access the Documents folder'. That's what the error message says here.

Better than nothing, but you still don't have general access to folders and subfolders like you used to have before. Meanwhile I have downloaded a file which would enable downgrade, but looking for a way to get my 8.3 data backed up: 8.3 backups are not downward compatible.I will never again install an Apple update with any bit of trust.

This is the same company which is impertinent enough to upload aupdates into my iOS devices, via my internet connection, without ANY permission from my side, as if my iOS devices were their extended territory. Unbelievable! No other software company I know has such a bizzare, patronizing way of treating users (and developers).

In the rush had tried an application if you have the iTunes file sharing.

As says the one above, to take a ipa with your data (saved games) this was fine, and now is an absolute disaster.

And there seems to be backtracking on its policy.

which "reputable" developers provide a file browser that works with ios 8.3?

My understanding is it wasn't until the final release where it became clear that file browsers would be impacted but I'm clearly not in the know such as yourself. If this is the case, then I'm more than happy to let the application developer know that he **** the bed and I'm moving on (digidna/iMazing who just asked for more money for an "upgrade").

I used iFunbox via iTunes to clear the 100+mb of data stored in Facebook, BBC News, Dropbox and so on. As there is no other way to do it.

And no, with 8.3, this app is now trashed!!

Is there a new way? Can it be done via iTunes? Is there a solution for clearing cache from Apps. I have read here that it's down to reputable developers; I don't think they are more repuatble than those made for the companies above - and yes you cannot clear their cache without removing the app and adding again (which is a pain).

So can it be done?

this is a disaster, and apple is playing dirty. At the end we have to go through itunes for everything, it seems a shame.
