BOOTMGR missing...Need solution

Have been on OS X Yosemite, no problems with Bootcamp, after updating to v10.10.3, BOOTMGR missing-unable to get in to Bootcamp...Is there a way to do start up repair from win 7 install disc or copy/replace bootmgr in Bootcamp? Files can still be seen in Finder.

See the USB as an option...will boot, can start repair...can only ask to reload drivers at bottom...do not know what to do. will not show boot camp drive as option to repair.

Have now tried bootrec /fixboot...said operation completed successfully, then did bootrec /rebuildbcd...said there was a windows installation on C:\...add installation to boot list? Answered yes...got "the requested system device cannot be found" Do you have any other suggestions and/or what is my next step?

After reinstall will all other data be available or better to new install and add backup...also would repartitioning allow c: to be seen and fix boot.

what is the safest and best backup method to use under the current conditions with bootcamp...this is a real pain...Thanks again for your help

The safest method at his point is to use UNIX dd command and make an exact replica of the BC partition to an external disk.
