Storage on my iPhone 6 keeps decreasing even after I delete apps. Please HELP!!

I've deleted apps and haven't added ANYTHING but I go to sleep with 2 GB and wake up with 0 in storage. It constantly decreases. Any suggestion?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3, null

Ever since that last update, I've been going through all the problems mentioned here as well. Even though I've had & (used to), love iPhones, since my first iPhone 3, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I had to pay almost $10.00 a month more, to upgrade storage that I already had, & later the same day, it says I'm "out of storage". This has got to be a huge financial windfall, to Apple! I've also had "Apple Support", in the past, completely ruin a new laptop, while walking me through a problen I was having, with a brand new phone. ENOUGH!

Same problem here... slowly but surely running out of memory. 6plus with 64g. No Idea what to do.

One quick question:

When you did a reset and restore with earlier iphones, all your apps were not sorted anymore on your screens and folders, instead the icons were lying scrambled on several screens. Is this fixed or still the case?

Thanks

I just had this problem on both me and my wife's iPhone 6 plus 16gb. I am trying to fix the problem but once every 10 seconds when I open up the Settings > General > Storage screen, the memory drops like 20mb. both our phone now shows 0 bytes free. Not sure what is the issue but it is really frustrating. When I plugged in to iTunes, it keeps asking me to update to 9.2.1 where both our phones are already updated to 9.2.1. Storage space on my phone shows 2.7GB but iTunes is showing 3.16GB free.

Okay I was having the same problem. And I found a solution. Actually it's caused by app crash. My storage ends up to 0.

You can cle these junk with a 3rd party software 'Tongbu'. Install the app, connect your iPhone & open Tongbu, on bottom you'll see your storage bar. There you'll fine 2 icons, refresh & delete. Click the trash can icon. Scan & clean. That's it.

Thanks LaKohn! That indeed was the solution!

Just so that it helps others.... before even trying to backup + restore the phone, give this a try.

1. Simply uninstall whatsapp

2. Now you should see all the expected space showing back again under Settings > General > Storage & iCloud.

3. Now download the latest from App store - (version 2.12.15 or later)

4. Now look at the space under Settings > General > Storage & iCloud, it should only reduce by the new whatapp install.

Good luck 🙂

But this probably exposes a bug that can allow apps that misbehave to affect some core parts of the overall phone software... one for Apple, perhaps?

Not sure if any of you are still have the same issue with storage mysteriously disappearing without any logical reason.

I had the same problem with 16 GB iPhone 6. I decided to suck it up and buy a 64 GB iPhone 6S. To my amazement, the same problem occurred! I took the time to add up the usage listed for ALL 88 apps on my phone (no judging, please...). It all added up to just over 9 GB (nowhere near the 64 GB capacity). I called Apple support and they wanted me to "Reset all settings" I was reluctant to lose any info so the set me up for an appointment at the local Apple store. Before I could go to the appointment, all of the missing storage reappeared! Not sure if Apple had anything to do with it - It was solved and that is all I cared about. I then noticed that I had a large e-mail stuck in my "outbox". I then realized that whenever that happened on my old phone, I suddenly lost all of my available memory. I suspect that is the cause of the missing storage issue.

You can't always get rid of a message so here is what I would suggest:

  1. Shut down the e-mail app (double click home button and swipe up).
  2. Turn on "Airplane" mode.
  3. Open e-mail app and go to "outbox" then remove the stuck message.

I have a hunch that this will get your missing storage back.

Hope to this helps someone....

Okay, the thing is its a third party software. Go to tongbu.com its in chinese language(better use Chrome to translate). Download the Sync assistant(yellow icon) on your computer & install it. Then open the app(don't put any ID) plug in your iPhone. You'll see a similar memory bar. Click on the trash can icon beside that bar on bottom. Scan & clean. Thats it.

Storage on my iPhone 6 keeps decreasing even after I delete apps. Please HELP!!
